Frog's Leap Chardonnay Shale & Stone 2019

First a whole cluster pressing before moving to a new French oak barrel for just 4 or 5 days. The wines are then moved with their lees to concrete vats for 12 months. Sometimes they do malo, sometimes not – tending to find a natural balance between the two extremes. Due to the concrete’s nature & its heat exchange, they leave no fermentable sugar. Resulting in a salty, stony smoky minerality on the nose, a delicate touch of reductivity & savoury lees aged character alongside confit lemon, white peach & roasted nut.
