Description
An exquisite example of Big Basin Vineyard's belief that the rugged, wild Gabilan mountains is the greatest place to grow Rhône varieties in California. The fruit is sourced from three vineyards in between 1600-2300 feet elevation, on mostly decomposed granite, limestone, calcareous soils. Fermented wild as whole clusters, stems and all, in small 1.5 tonne fermenters and transferred to oak for second fermentation. No new oak - aged for 22 months in once used and neutral oak.
"A seamless, gorgeously textured red that offers tons of ripe black cherries, raspberries, blueberries, spice and floral aromas and flavours, 93 points." The Wine Advocate
